Progress Update


New

  • Enemy mutations. Some enemies gain new spells and/or change appearance depending on the total mutation points the player has accumulated.
  • New Enemy: Ghost Bird
    • Poor vision but can cast a powerful spell.
  • Visual feedback when taking damage.
    • Brief flash effect.
  • New Scene Type: Cache
    • These scenes may be dangerous depending on the player’s choice.
    • May provide bonuses.
  • New Cache Scene: Well
  • New Puzzle Scenes: Cliff, Road
  • New Fight Scenes: Cave, Bridge
  • New Runes
    • Expand/Maximize: Effects are 30%/60% bigger.
  • New Tier 1 Perks
    • Spectral Veil: Grants a temporary barrier upon receiving damage but makes barriers weaker.
    • Magic Marker: Restore mana upon dealing damage.
    • Apprentice Wand: Gain health and mana regen when casting spells.
  • New Tier 2 Perks
    • Bulwark: Grants a permanent barrier that regenerates overtime.
    • Odorless Charm: Gain 200 temporary barrier at the start of each scene, and upon taking this perk.
    • Sun Word: Deal damage per second to nearby enemies.
    • Red Mist: Casting spells deal damage to nearby enemies, but your spells also cost health.
    • Valiant Pose: Gain temporary critical strike damage when casting spells.
    • Stalwart Pose: Gain temporary block when casting spells.
    • Dragon Bread: Healing overtime.
    • Furious Ghost: Bonus outgoing damage.
    • Glove of Pain: Even more outgoing damage but you also take more damage.
  • Silence Mechanic: You cannot cast spells when silenced.
    • Players are silenced in some puzzle scenes.
  • Players are now warned if a rune does not contribute to a spell.
    • Like using a mana cost reduction rune, and nothing else.

Changes

  • Changed how rewards are calculated.
    • Rune and perks now share the same amount of points.
      • This means that the total number of rewards per scene are less.
  • Significantly reduced reward and mutation points.
    • This makes cache and puzzle scenes significantly important now.
  • Reduced reserved rune slots to 5.
  • Reduced flower lantern damage to 5 and disable duration to 3.
  • Raze/destroy/obliterate runes changed to 50%/100%/200% damage increase.
  • Catapult rune increased explosion radius to 200% of the projectile's size.
    • It should be easier to hit multiple enemies with it now.
  • Character controller now works with effector 2Ds.
  • Slightly improved character controller physics.
    • Now has a higher priority than Unity's physics.
    • Hopefully would feel a bit less janky.
  • Streamlined rune stats for future runes.
    • This allows for new runes that modify other runes, such as homing missiles or duplicating projectiles.

Fixes

  • Fixed combustion only being able to hit 1 enemy.
  • Fixed dynamic projectiles not bouncing if it hits multiple obstacles at the same time.
